Purple Paws Pet Clinic is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Robert Tugend to its extensive staff of animal care professionals.

Tugend grew up in Coronado and is a Coronado High School graduate. He joined the staff of Main Street Animal Hospital directly out of veterinary school and completed an internship in Internal Medicine and in Veterinary Surgery, soon thereafter. During his years at VCA Main Street, he served a wide community of clients including caring for California Highway Patrol, National City Police Department, and the San Diego Police Department canines.

At this point in his career, he has decided to return to a private practice. His many Coronado clients are thrilled to have Tugend even closer to home. He is very excited to serve the Coronado community where he has deep roots.

Coronado resident and business owner, Robbins Kelly, a long-time client says, “Dr. Tugend has treated generations of our family pets. His caring and expertise make even those difficult life decisions easier. We are so pleased to now have him here in town!”

Tugend is an expert in internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, and soft tissue surgery. His interest is in solving your pet’s problems as quickly and efficiently as possible and, if necessary, referring you to one of the many specialists in the area with whom he has established professional relationships.
