Coronado Real Estate Association, CREA CARES will be collecting non-perishable food items and travel sized toiletries for the Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center. CREA CARES’ goal is to collect 200 pounds of food to help stock the center’s food pantry for their monthly mass food distribution. Donations can be dropped off at the following location the day of the event, Saturday, July 24 from 8 to 11 a.m., Union Bank Parking Lot. 800 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118.

Donations can be dropped off prior to the event at the following locations, Coronado Chamber of Commerce. 1125 Tenth Street, Coronado, CA 92118, and Keller Williams Coronado Living Luxury Homes, in the Smart & Final parking lot, 134 B Street, Coronado, CA 92118.

“CREA members serve both Coronado and Imperial Beach communities and we’re grateful to collectively give back to help those in need,” said Debbie Giometti, CREA President.

The Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center strives to provide food security to members of the community through monthly mass distribution, a weekly food pantry, ready to eat meals for homeless individuals, and other services. Working with the San Diego Food Bank, the IB Neighborhood Center distributes free food to low-income individuals and families on the Thursday before the Second Friday of each month between 9 and 11 a.m.

Donations online may be made directly to the Imperial Beach Neighborhood Center (https://imperialbeachneighborhoodcenter.org/donate-now/). Monetary donations by check can be made payable to: IB Neighborhood Center, 455 Palm Avenue, Imperial Beach, CA 91932.

Donation Items Needed: Canned meat; canned fish; canned vegetables; canned fruit; canned soup; oatmeal; nut butters (no glass); cereal; travel size toiletries.

“With the re-opening of California, we’re expecting more people to come out who need help,” Administrative Assistant, Jose Griffin-Atil said.
