Coastal Living Magazine and Flagg Coastal Homes will host a Coastal Living Experience Day at the celebrated 2014 Showhouse this coming Saturday, August 23, from 10-5.

Eight sponsors will participate in a full day of seminars, Q & A sessions, presentations and giveaways. Among those sharing the construction and design aspects of the Showhouse will be John O’Brien of Flagg Coastal Homes and Betsy Burnham of Burnham Design. The Hotel del Coronado will provide a cooking demonstration and host cocktails from 2-4 p.m.

Coastal Living Magazine will provide gift bags for each visitor touring the Showhouse. Visitors from across the country will be participating in this special day of activities.

Showhouse is a picturesque new home at 100 Ocean Drive in Coronado. Each year Coastal Living Magazine selects a property to develop as their Showhouse, to be featured on the cover of their magazine. This is their first California Showhouse.

The magazine publisher said during a recent visit to the Showhouse that this is the best of 25 Showhouses they have sponsored to date. The builder said, this Showhouse is the finest of his 35 coastal homes built to date.

Coastal Living Magazine has 4.4 million readers. They are part of the Time, Inc. publishing family that includes Sports Illustrated, Time, Life, People, and 32 other internationally known and respected magazines.

Showhouse sponsors participating in Coastal Living Experience Day are Belgard Hardscapes (taking place at 10:15 a.m. in the pool area); Sunbrella (11 in family room); Lee Industries (11:45 in the kitchen, dining room and living room); Marvin Windows and Doors (12:30 p.m. in the kitchen and living room); Rinnai (1:15 in the kitchen); Eldorado Stone (2:45 on the family room deck); Velux Skylights (3:30 in the family room); and Azek Building Products (4:15 on the family room deck).

Each sponsor will have a 30-minute window where they will introduce guests to their product and their involvement in Showhouse, followed by Q & A and giveaways. Among the giveaway items are lavish gift cards and even a fire pit.

Tickets to tour Showhouse are available now through the Coronado Visitor Center or at www.coastbuilder.net. Tickets are $25 a person and the Showhouse will be open daily (except Mondays and Tuesdays), 10-4, through September 28.

Portions of the proceeds from 2014 Showhouse will go to the Navy SEAL Foundation. To date the Foundation has received more than $30,000 from this project.
