Alzheimer’s Disease Panel Discussion To Be Held Sept. 5

Hayley Beard, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Coronado, is sponsoring an Alzheimer’s Disease Panel Discussion with the San Diego Alzheimer’s Association, Balfour Law and Sharp from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Coronado Library in the Winn Room, 640 Orange Avenue.

Speakers at this important event will include Bob Balfour from the Balfour Law Group who will discuss estate and disability planning considerations; Dr. Michael Plopper, a psychiatrist and medical director of clinical trials at Sharp Hospital, who will discuss Alzheimer’s and dementia support provided by Sharp Hospital and considerations for those providing care; Elizabeth Terrazas from the San Alzheimer’s Association who will provide insight into the latest research, how to make lifestyle choices that may help keep your brain and body healthy as you age and the Alzheimer’s Walk on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Liberty Station; Rajni Kharbanda, the executive director at the Coronado Retirement Village (CRV) and Memory Care Center, who will discuss how we all partner together to support the patient, and how the CRV incorporates diet, exercise and family support into their care; and Beard, an Edward Jones Coronado Financial Advisor who will discuss budgeting for the unexpected, health care costs and financial planning considerations. She will also moderate the panel.

This event is open to the community and free, with the goal to raise awareness. An RSVP is appreciated and snacks will be served.
