To celebrate everyone’s favorite October costume celebration, the Recreation and Golf Services has five different ways for teens to say, “BOO!” this year. Here is the list:

Friday Night on the Town: Trip through the Haunted Trails of Balboa Park on Friday, October 18, from 6 to 11 p.m. cost is $65. Transportation, dinner, entrance and supervision is included and provided by Recreation Staff.

Monsters Needed: Sign up to be a ghost or goblin on the Haunted Trail Hike at Oakoasis County Park on Saturday, October 12, from 3:30 to 10 p.m. Transportation and supervision is included and provided by Recreation Staff.

Pumpkin Painting Volunteers: We are looking for teens to help younger children with Pumpkin Painting at the Coronado Farmer’s Market. Tuesday, October 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Ferry Landing Tuesday. This event qualifies for community service hours.

Halloween Happening Volunteers: Run a carnival booth at the Recreation and Golf Services Annual Halloween Happening on Friday, October 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center. This event qualifies for community service hours.

  • 4 Be Nice. No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism that is degrading to another person.
  • 5 Be Proactive. Use the 'Report' link on each comment to let us know of abusive posts.
  • 6 Share with Us. We'd love to hear eyewitness accounts, the history behind an article.
