Safe Harbor Coronado is hosting a free Mental Health First Aid training on August 2, from 9:30 a.m – 5 p.m. in the Winn Room at the Coronado Public Library. They are partnering with the County of San Diego and the Coronado Public Library to bring you this certified public education program led by instructor, Dr. Latanya Runnells. This training will teach you how to approach, assess, and assist an individual with a mental health challenge or substance use concern, in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Learn:

To recognize risk factors, warning signs, and symptoms of mental illness

A five-step plan to support someone in emotional crisis

To understand the impact of mental illness
