During this unprecedented time in our nation’s history everyone at Sharp Coronado Hospital hopes you and your loved ones are healthy and well. While the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic remain uncertain, they are inspired by the local community’s response to the immediate needs of Sharp Coronado Hospital.

In support of your community hospital, Coronado Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved COVID-19 Emergency Response Funds to prepare and care for COVID-19 positive patients while keeping all patients and health care team members safe.

To provide the safest environment, Sharp Coronado has purchased a second advanced cleaning and disinfecting Xenex Robot. This incredible machine uses pulsed xenon, a high-intensity UV light -- which fuses the DNA of the organisms rendering them unable to mutate or reproduce, effectively killing them on the spot.

They are pleased to announce Bob Campbell and Becci Rocco have stepped forward to help lead these efforts through their funding of the second Xenex Robot. Bob and Becci have been incredible supporters of the hospital for more than 15 years.

Sharp Coronado’s first Xenex Robot was named Sofia by the hospital team. They are pleased introduce you to Ava, the newest addition to Sharp Coronado’s robotics’ team. Ava is affectionately named in loving memory of Bob and Becci’s dog who passed away last spring.
