Library Art Exhibit ...

The current exhibit in the Coronado Public Library’s Spreckels Reading Room is a collection of artworks entitled Cherished Memories of Our Enchanted Island. Curated by Library archivist Candice Hooper and lifetime resident Sharon Lynn Sherman, this show brings to our community a true walk down memory lane: Free Brothers Market, the real Mexican Village, Howard House, our beloved ferries and many other buildings and scenes.

Curated by Library archivist Candice Hooper and lifetime resident Sharon Lynn Sherman, this show brings to our community a true walk down memory lane: Free Brothers Market, the real Mexican Village, Howard House, our beloved ferries and many other buildings and scenes.

Most of the artists have passed on, but on March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. there will be a reception at the library for the art itself. A notebook is available in the Spreckels Reading Room for all to write down their favorite Coronado memories. The notebook will become part of the Library’s permanent collection so years from now people can read and learn about what our Enchanted Island was like in years gone by. Light refreshments will be served, and fond remembrances exchanged between friends old and new are guaranteed.
