This week is Halloween and the City will host free fun activities for the entire family this year that are planned to keep everyone healthy and safe. Coronado residents may participate, and the City will make accommodations for all Coronado residents who sign up.
Recreation and Golf Services, the Cultural Arts Commission and Coronado MainStreet invite households to enjoy a drive-thru trick-or-treating activity from 2 to 6 p.m. on Halloween Day, Oct. 31. Get dressed and deck out the car for a photo op by Recreation staff. A ticket is required to participate so call 619-522-7342 weekdays during Community Center operating hours to get a specific drive-thru time and location either in the Cays or the Village. Coronado residents may register starting Wednesday, Oct. 14, and nonresidents starting Oct. 26.
Also, starting Friday, Oct. 9, the community may share their creative spirit by taking part in several social media Halloween contests. The contests are: Most Impressive Pumpkin Decorating; Most Delightful Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume; Most Haunting Home Decor; Most Creative Kids Costume; and Best Group Costume. Submit photos to email@example.com or through social media to our City of Coronado Recreation Services page on Facebook or recreate_coronado on Instagram.
