The next SAFE Coffee Talk will be on Monday, Nov. 4 in the Coronado Unified School District board room at 201 Sixth Street from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. This Coffee Talk will focus on an Alternative Treatment to Mental Health with guest speaker Dr. Heather St. Jean-Garcia, PsyD, LMFT.

Alternative Treatment to Mental Health will help transform your family by understanding self-care and its impact on your kids. It will go beyond therapy and medication, utilizing the whole-body approach to treatment. This will challenge negative thought cycles and discuss how you can bring your best self to the challenges of parenting.

Jean-Garcia has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents. She currently works for SPOT Kids Therapy, Inc. providing school-based services. After having twin girls she realized the importance of self-care as a parent. She also works in maternal mental health at Well Mamas Counseling, a private practice in Mission Valley, supporting moms and caregivers alike in the unique challenges parenthood brings.
