More Recreation facilities and programs are reopening. For some facilities, Recreation has created new punch passes. A lap swim punch pass is good for 5 uses. Costs for residents are $12 youth, $20 adult and $12 senior. The costs for nonresidents are $28 youth, $44 adult and $28 seniors. The fitness room punch pass is good for 5 uses. The costs for residents are $15 youth, $18 adult and $15 seniors. The costs for nonresidents are $25 youth, $30 adult and $25 senior. Both punch passes do not expire. For questions call 619-522-7342. Tennis:

Instructional play led by the City’s tennis professionals resumed on the Library Tennis Courts Monday, June 22. Reservations for doubles play has increased to allow for two, one-hour bookings. Reservation play for the public is limited to the courts at the Coronado Tennis Center and the Coronado Cays Park Tennis Courts. Book a reservation began on Friday, June 19. Call the Coronado Tennis Center at 619-522-2650. Mostly youth programs, but morning drill and evening drill classes will be available for adults as well on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Camps:

Youth camps began June 22. Organized youth sports are explicitly not allowed at this time per the public health order. Camps have limited enrollment. The final camp lineup is still to be determined but staff has created an E-brochure that will be updated as new programs are confirmed. Registration for residents and nonresidents using the online registration system PerfectMind and by phone began Saturday, June 20. No in-person registration is allowed at this time. Fitness Room:

The Coronado Community Center’s Fitness Room opened Monday, June 22, as part of a soft reopening. Reservations are available Monday to Friday, 7 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Reservations are limited to one hour and only two people per time slot. We ask that patrons wipe down equipment after use with gym wipes provided by Recreation. All users of the facility must purchase an annual, monthly or punch pass via credit card. Cash payments are not accepted. Call 619-522-7342 to make a reservation.

Aquatics Center’s Competition Pool:

The Aquatics Center’s Competition Pool opened Wednesday, June 24, as part of a soft reopening. Reservations are available Monday to Friday, 6 to 11 a.m. All users of the facility must purchase an annual, monthly or punch pass via credit card. Cash payments are not accepted. Call 619-522-7342 to make a reservation. Masks are required when entering the Aquatics Center but not while swimming. Pool lifeguards began refresher training this week, brushing up on CPR, in-water rescues and COVID-19 protocols.
