The City Council approved a carpeting project for the Library while it is closed during the public health emergency. The Council agreed to award a contract on Tuesday, April 21. The project’s appropriation was $220,000.

With the current closure of the Library, the project can be completed at an accelerated pace. The existing carpet was installed in 2004 and has reached the end of its useful life. Several areas of the carpeting are heavily stained and worn despite regular cleaning and repair.
