The Coronado Island Film Festival (CIFF), has just released their 2019 Passes now available for an Early Bird price. The annual festival will take place November 8-11, over the Veterans Day holiday weekend.  Now in its fourth year, the festival invites filmmakers and lovers of film from across the globe to a festival that is at once both cosmopolitan and intimate, a rare combination that allows for an indelible experience that lasts long after the lights go up.

Since its 2016 launch, CIFF has screened a blend of notable independent films alongside Oscar-nominated features, making their San Diego County premieres. CIFF’s 2018 Opening Night film was “Green Book,” which won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Picture. And two CIFF 2018 films, “Roma” and “The Favourite,” tied for the most 2019 Oscar nominations (ten each). “This year we will continue to build upon the caliber of films, panels, and events, that is quickly making the industry take note of our Festival” states Executive Director, Merridee Book, “Our attendees are lovers of film, wholly engaged, who welcome filmmakers with enthusiasm and expectation, making it an enriching experience for all!”

As San Diego’s only four-day, pedestrian-friendly festival, CIFF offers a slate of more than 80 films cultivated from a diverse selection of genres, plus compelling panels, lively workshops and of course, parties! Mingle with industry leaders including Festival Host and Honorary Jury President, renown film critic and author Leonard Maltin, whose Celebrity Tribute Dinner has become a festival highlight, honoring the best in the business, from emerging newcomer to seasoned pro, whose contributions have significantly impacted the film industry.

This year festival attendees have several pass options to select from: The Crown City Pass, for those who love the VIP experience, will include priority reservations for major studio films, and Leonard Maltin’s Celebrity Tribute Dinner held in the iconic Crown Room of the world-famous Hotel del Coronado, the Festival’s Presenting Sponsor.  The Film Buff Pass is perfect for lovers of film who enjoy independent films and celebrating up-and-coming artists. Both passes will include an Opening Night screening and a rollicking party “Taste of the Festival” hosted by event Presenting Sponsor, CalPrivate Bank, and Signature Sponsor, Douglas Elliman Real Estate,  Day Passes will be available closer to the Festival date.
