The City invites the community to participate in two planned public workshops, Oct. 16 and 19, to help identify desired improvements for Coronado Cays Park. This is the beginning of a process to see what the public wants, find out what works and establish an outdoor space that can be enjoyed by all its users. The City would like to clarify that there are no pre-determined plans for any changes other than the need to replace the aging irrigation system. The City is hosting the workshops, with more to come, to hear from the community, including how to deal with the difficulty with growing trees in that coastal location, underused areas, parking and the orientation of facilities, such as the restroom. A landscape architect has been hired to help answer some of the questions. To encourage the community’s participation, the workshops are being offered on two different locations.
