Finisher medals and T-shirts are in for the Coronado 130 Virtual Challenge, an event designed to help the City celebrate its 130th anniversary and participants stay healthy during the ongoing pandemic.

Locals may pick up finisher medals and other ordered packages at the Coronado Community Center, 1845 Strand Way, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Fridays: Nov. 6 and Dec. 11.

Medals may be picked up only if you have logged more than 130 miles on the leaderboard. When picking up gear, please practice social distancing and wear a mask.

The challenge asks participants to complete 130 miles by running, walking, cycling, golfing, paddle boarding, surfing, inline skating or any other activity by Dec. 11, the date the City was incorporated in 1890.

If you are interested in joining this challenge, you can still sign up. The challenge is free and a medal goes to all who complete more than 130 miles. There are doubles and triples where for a fee, participants may receive more commemorative gear.
