It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Stanford Baker Stockdale on April 7, 2014. Stanford died peacefully at Tri City Medical Center in Oceanside, California surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

LT Phil R. Meyer, United States Navy, Ret., age 67, of Diamondhead, passed away on January 17, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Meyer, his step-mother, Mary Meyer, a brother, Victor Meyer, a grandson, Jacob Ethridge.
Nancy Welch, a Navy widow, mother of two sons, grandmother of four, retired Marriage, Family, and Child Counselor and Therapist, and, 46-year Coronado resident and active community member, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2013, at Sharp Hospital in Coronado. She was 82.
Stanleigh K. Fisk of Sierra Vista, AZ passed away December 19, 2013. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio Fisk served with the Seabees in the South Pacific in WWII. His passion for the sea continued throughout his life. He attended Bowling Green State University on the GI Bill, graduating in 1951. Always dramatic, he was proud of being one of the founding members of the Huron Playhouse, and appreciated music of all types.
Jay passed away on November 24, 2013, after a very long and valiant fight with cancer. He was surrounded by friends and family while watching the Chargers game against Kansas City, which the Chargers won. He was the son of John Halsey “Jack” Brickley, Colonel, USMC and Jean Henderson Brickley, both deceased.
Rupert Brooke of Solana Beach, California passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013.
First and foremost, Rupert leaves behind a wonderful, lasting legacy of most loving husband to his wife of 67 years, Betty Lou Brooke, and of a really great Dad to his children, Wendy (Brooke) Toomey and James Brooke. And of course, the absolute joys of his life were his six grandchildren, Patrick, Andrew and Hollyn Toomey, and Alex, Collin and Peter Brooke.
Severine Albert “Mike” Mikalson, born February 10, 1915 in Bismarck, ND, was the older of two children of Severine and Marie Mikalson. From Hazelton, SD, to Salt Creek, WY, and even briefly Van Nuys, CA, Mike’s favorite and longest locale growing up was Billings, MT.
Annora Kamler, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Vintage Gardens. She was born March 18, 1921 to Wilber and Minnie (Brown) Means in Mound City, Missouri. She married Donald Fletcher December 28, 1946 and he preceeded her in death on August 29, 1956.
Richard was a longtime Coronado resident living part time since 1972, then moving permanently to the city he loved in 1990.
Over the years he wrote many humor columns for newspapers around the United States, including the San Diego Weekly News, the Coronado Journal, as well as the Coronado Eagle. His column “Bludering On” was published for over 25 years.
It’s only been a few months since you left us and we miss you so much. You have always been the heart of the family. Now it’s coming up on your birthday next month then the holidays. After the New Year, it will be your wedding anniversary. Four months after that you will be gone a year.

Born Eleanor Virginia McGuire on July 21, 1923 to Kareen and Walter McGuire, Eleanor was one of six children. She resided in Shadyside, Ohio until she completed high school and moved to the East Coast. She met and married her first husband, Colin Raymond Gallagher and had the first three of her four children: Linda Gallagher, Sharon Hill, and Patsy Hargett.
Three years have passed, but within our hearts, the one we love is never really gone - In spirit and memory her legacy lives on.
Laurie Ann Wack died June 19, 1983 at the age of 21 via injuries suffered in an auto accident in which she was a passenger.
Hard to believe how much we continue to miss her beautiful face and her sparky personality. We will always feel the pain of her loss and imagine what her life would have been among us.
My mother was born October 29, 1919 in New Bedford, Massachusetts and had resided in Rhode Island in Bradford, Kenyon, Wood River Junction and Carolina before spending the past 25 years in Westerly.
